Restore began by asking how we could design and offer a system of fresh, locally-sourced grocery staples. One with no plastic and minimal waste that looks after tomorrow.
The result: Our name gives away the solution – Return, Refill, Repeat.
We are a delivery system of clear-conscience products and a philosophy. When suitable, our staples are packaged in reused airtight, non-reactive glassware. This preserves the nutritious quality and prevents harmful chemicals and microplastic particles leaching into and reacting with the wholesome produce. Our other packaging eliminates waste by being compostable.
Neighbourly participation is pivotal.
Think of us as you would a library. We lend you our locally made glassware. When it's returned (sparkling), we launder and sterilise it, time and time again, and then refill it creating our closed-loop system.
Each subscription is a partnership in our mission. We return the trust - there are no overdue fines or penalties.
It’s pleasing to be able to say 96% of our containers are returned clean and remain in circulation. With the help of our community, each one has an average lifespan of 25 uses.
In expecting our subscribers to show love and respect for our circular economy and its ability to help make the world a better place, we ask that you:
- Use the bottle brush that arrives with your first delivery to rinse away food residue.
- Partner with your dishwasher to make our glassware so sparkly it could win a beauty contest. Only then are they ready for us to launder and sanitise to industry standards and refill by hand.
- Return our glassware naked, without a lid. We are not permitted to reuse them. A lid also traps any bacteria inside.
We understand accidents happen and ask that you do not return chipped or broken glassware but dispose of it with care.
