Our Circular Economy And Bottle Library
Restore set out to answer the question ‘how can we do groceries without plastic or waste?’
Where possible, our range of products are packaged in glass. Glass containers are airtight and non-reactive, preserving the quality of their contents and preventing unwanted flavours or harmful chemicals from leaching into them. Glass does not shed microplastic particles into your food.
It’s a small ritual, repeated in homes across Sydney. A quiet act of care, for your family, for our farmers, for the planet we share.
Glass can also be washed and reused, time and time again, creating a closed-loop system.
This is a partnership. Your participation is pivotal. Our glassware can be likened to a library. We place our trust in you by lending you our containers; when returned, we sanitise and refill them. With the help of our community, each of our bottles has an average lifespan of 25 uses. In doing so, our community is diverting plastic bottles from production and landfill.
We ask that:
You rinse our bottles using the bottle brush that comes with your first delivery.
You make them sparkle in your dishwasher.
You return them with pride and without the lid that can trap moisture and bacteria. Your milkman will reject any that are not prize-worthy because a dirty bottle impacts the whole community.
We will collect them, sanitise, refill and reuse.
